To live in beauty cannot mean to live in perfection. The world we all live in operates on life emerging from death. Living things do not live forever here, but instead are overwhelmed and broken down into dust. We are all made of dust, and into dust we shall return. Yugen, a Japanese word, translates into 'subtly profound grace' or, 'an awareness of the universe that trigger emotional responses too deep and mysterious for words'. I have experienced both of those, and those experiences truly say who I am as an artist. My journey has been to emulate my experiences through imagery, to share good news about life and death, redemption, hope, beauty and grace. For I have been redeemed, so that I may live to enjoy the light.
